Crete: Hoteliers want to host doctors and nurses for holidays after the unprecedented crisis of Covid-19

The offer of the Rethymnon Hoteliers Association to host in Rethymno doctors and nursing staff who work in the 13 reference hospitals, after the end of the unprecedented crisis of Covid-19, caused a positive chain of reactions!

The Hotel Association of Heraklion, praised and immediately became a partner of the initiative of the hoteliers of Rethymnon and with a statement of its president Nikos Chalkiadakis, is compiled with the Association of Hoteliers of Rethymnon and its members offer generous hospitality for nursing staff.

Manolis Tsakalakis, president of the Rethymnon Hoteliers Association, told Athens News Agency: “We make an effort through personal contacts with all the hoteliers’ associations in Crete and the rest of the country so that they can share our proposal and speak in our own way and our capabilities. Our thanks to the people who are at the forefront of dealing with and protecting all of us from the pandemic”.

The Asi Gonia Cultural Association “Agios Georgios” participates in the expression of gratitude and offers a traditional table, in the village square, to the doctors and nurses when they come to Rethymnon for holidays.

Also, the owner of the ferry Olympus offers free transportation to all doctors and nursing staff who wish to come to Crete. The exceptional initiative of the Rethymnon Association is supported by individual hoteliers from all over Crete.

According to the management of the Rethymnon Hoteliers Association: “We are confident that similar processes, which have begun in other parts of the country, will succeed and the initiative of Rethymnon of open arms, Rethymnon of hospitality and solidarity, will find imitators everywhere.”
