DESCRIPTION:Art Gallery Morfes\n(Γοβατζιδάκη 18\, Παλιά Πόλη Ρέθυμνο)\n7.05 έως 30.05.2026\nΕπιμέλεια Ηλίας Ηλιάκης \nΗ Art Gallery Μορφές παρουσιάζει την έκθεση με τίτλο Labirynth του Πολωνού εικαστικού Andrzej Zdanowicz. \nΟ Andrzej Zdanowicz (γεν. 1960) αποτελεί μια σταθερή και διακριτή παρουσία στη σύγχρονη πολωνική ζωγραφική. Καθηγητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο Τεχνών του Πόζναν\, όπου και ζει και εργάζεται\, διαμορφώνει εδώ και δεκαετίες ένα εικαστικό ιδίωμα βαθιά συνδεδεμένο με την ίδια τη φύση της ζωγραφικής πράξης. \nΤο έργο του αντλεί από την κλασική παράδοση\, με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στις τεχνικές της ελαιογραφίας και της τέμπερας\, ενώ η επίδραση της ζωγραφικής του 13ου και 14ου αιώνα παραμένει εμφανής ως προς την ένταση και την πνευματικότητα της εικόνας. Από πρώιμες αναφορές σε αρχιτεκτονικές μορφές και φαντασιακές δομές\, η πρακτική του έχει στραφεί σταδιακά προς τη γραμμή ως πρωταρχικό μέσο κατανόησης και οριοθέτησης του κόσμου — μια γραμμή που αποφεύγει την αφήγηση και ανοίγει πεδία σύνθετων\, διαισθητικών νοημάτων. \nΗ έκθεση Labyrinth προκύπτει από αυτή τη συνεχιζόμενη αναζήτηση και εισέρχεται σε έναν διακριτικό διάλογο με τον τόπο της Κρήτης. Εδώ\, οι έννοιες της περιπλάνησης\, της διαδρομής και της εμπειρίας του χώρου αποκτούν ιδιαίτερη βαρύτητα. Ο Zdanowicz προσεγγίζει τον λαβύρινθο όχι ως σύμβολο προς απεικόνιση\, αλλά ως συνθήκη προς βίωση—μια συνθήκη που αντανακλά την ίδια την εμπειρία της ζωγραφικής. \nΗ επαφή του με το νησί έχει συμβάλει καθοριστικά στη διαμόρφωση αυτής της ενότητας έργων. A professor at the University of the Arts in Poznań\, where he lives and works\, he has developed over the decades a visual language deeply rooted in the very nature of the act of painting. \nHis work draws from the classical tradition\, with a particular emphasis on oil and tempera techniques\, while the influence of 13th- and 14th-century painting remains evident in the intensity and spiritual dimension of his imagery. From early references to architectural forms and imagined structures\, his practice has gradually shifted toward the line as a primary means of understanding and delineating the world—a line that avoids narration and opens fields of complex\, intuitive meanings. \nThe exhibition Labyrinth emerges from this ongoing exploration and enters into a subtle dialogue with the context of Crete. Here\, notions of disorientation\, passage\, and spatial experience acquire particular resonance. Zdanowicz approaches the labyrinth not as a symbol to be illustrated\, but as a condition to be experienced—one that parallels the act of engaging with painting itself. \nHis encounters with the island have played a significant role in shaping this body of work. The landscape\, the light\, and the lived experience of place have contributed to a renewed sense of direction within his practice. In this respect\, Crete becomes less a backdrop and more an active presence within the work—an influence that continues to unfold.
