Platanias welcomes its visitors with a unique exhibition in the summer of 2018. An exhibition full of Crete, Greece, Music… For four months, the visitors of Platanias, of Chania, of Crete can “travel” with this Exhibition and the screenings of Archival Content & Posters from Zorbas the Greek film, that will be located in OLEA mall of Platanias.
A legendary cinematic film, the syrtaki dance that became internationally the Greek soundtrack, in one of the most durable advertising campaigns that maintains more than five decades.
The exhibition includes 51 authentic cinematic posters of Michalis Cacoyannis’s film, Alexis Zorbas, from its screening all over the world. Posters from France, England, Spain, Italy, Japan, Poland, Mexico, Latin America, Germany, Argentina, Belgium, USA, Romania, Australia, Sweden, former Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Finland, Denmark and many more, which were created by great artists of each country like: Tealdi, Xarrie, Nistri, Ray, Syska, Erul, Jano, Mac, R.K, Chantrell, Vaka, Wengler and more.
A giant painted poster of dimensions 1.50 x 3.00 meters, has a special place in the exhibition, which adorned the facade of German movie theater, crafted in Studio FPV. Corresponding works exist in major Museums of Europe and America.
Unpublished photos, mock-ups, production notes, Mikis Theodorakis’s original score, disk editions, publications, promotional content and other documents related to the film are also presented.
At the same time, in the exhibition area, will take place special screenings about the film and its music. Screenings about Zorbas, Syrtaki, Mikis Theodorakis, Michalos Cacoyannis and Nikos Kazantzakis.
The collection and editing of the exhibition belongs to the actor and collector of Chania, Lefteris Lambrakis.
